How to protect yourself from mosquitos in Thailand (without deet)

I found mosquitos to be a true menace in Thailand. Many hotels have nets over the bed, but you only need one sneaky mosquito to get in there before you close the net around the bed for your body to become a personal lunchbox. As soon as the hotel cleaners changed the bedding, we did our best to close the nets around our bed. Time and time again I still ended up with bites all over my arms and legs.

There were points during my time in Thailand when I got absolutely eaten alive. A fair bit of experimenting occurred during that time, but one thing remained a constant: I refused to use deet-based repellant.

Why deet is bad for your health

    Xyz

    What alternatives did I try

    Vitamin B1 supplements

    Pure Lemongrass spray

    Insecto spray & lotion

    Lime juice

    What came out the best?

    Vitamin b1 & lime juice.
